Virus Alert (Hallmark Greetings) EMAIL ALERT

Hi All, I got this email earlier today, I checked Snopes

It's a real Virus Threat !

Get this message sent to your contacts ASAP
.

PLEASE FORWARD THIS WARNING AMONG FRIENDS, FAMILY AND CONTACTS!

You should be alert during the next few days.

Do not open any message
with an attachment entitled 'POSTCARD FROM HALLMARK,' regardless of who sent it to you.

It is a virus which opens A POSTCARD IMAGE, which
'burns' the whole hard disc C of your computer. This virus will be received from someone who has your e-mail address in his/her contact list.

This is the reason why you need to send this e-mail to all your
contacts It is better to receive this message 25 times than to receive the virus and open it.

If you receive a mail called' POSTCARD,' even though sent to you by friend, do not open it! Shut down your computer immediately. This is the worst virus announced by CNN.

It has been classified by
Microsoft as the most destructive virus ever. This virus was discovered by McAfee yesterday, and there is no repair yet for this kind of virus. This virus simply destroys the Zero Sector of the Hard
Disc, where the vital information is kept.

Salem, MA, lunch, history and giggles

I had lunch today in Salem, Ma (Witch City) at a place that I would recommend to anyone visits the city that was once the home of Nathaniel Hawthorne and where every year they celebrate Halloween with more pomp and circumstance than Christmas.

Some claim that in 1876, the first telephone call was made from just around the corner at the site of the Lyceum Bar and Grill by Alexander Graham Bell to his assistant Mr Watson who was in Cambridge...

Red's Sandwich Shop

After lunch I had to take a picture of a Liquor Store Sign that has always struck me funny..

The Bunghole !

I think I'd change my name even if I did know that:

A bunghole is a hole bored in a liquid-tight barrel. The hole is capped with a large cork-like object called a bung

Bungholes were first used on wooden barrels, and were typically bored by the purchaser of the barrel using a brace and bit. Bungholes can be bored in either head (end) of a barrel or in one of the staves (side). With the bung removed, a tapered faucet can be attached to aid with dispensing. When barrels full of beer or wine were shipped, the recipient would often bore new bungholes of the most suitable size and placement rather than remove the existing bung.

I think I'd call my liquor store "The Keg"

Got it in the Email

Three men - a Canadian farmer, Osama bin Laden and a KENTUCKY GENTLEMAN are all working together one day.

They come across a lantern and a Genie pops out of it.
'I will give each
of you one wish, which is three wishes in total', says the Genie.

The Canadian says, 'I am a farmer and my son will also farm. I want the land to be forever fertile in Canada '

POOF! With the blink of the Genie's eye, the land in Canada was forever fertile for farming.

Osama was amazed, so he said, 'I want a wall around Afghanistan , Palestine , Iraq and Iran so that no infidels, Americans or Canadians
can come into our precious land.'

POOF! Again, with the blink of the Genie's eye, there was a huge wall around those countries.

The Kentuckian says, 'I am very curious.
Please tell me more about this wall.'

The Genie explains, 'Well, it's about 5,000 feet high, 5oo feet thick and completely surrounds the country. Nothing can get in or out;

it's virtually impenetrable.'

The Kentuckian sits down on his Harley , cracks a beer, lites a cigar,
smiles and says,

'Fill it with water.'

Old South Meeting House

On December 16, 1773, some 5000 colonists gathered at the Old South Meeting House to protest a tax and so, started a revolution with the Boston Tea Party.

Built in 1729, the Old South Meeting House was the largest building in colonial Boston, but is now towered over by the modern steel and glass buildings of today.

Boston is a beautiful city with a wonderful mix of old and new...

On a trip this past weekend I snapped a few shots of the city...

A new view of the Custom House from a park that used to be a a highway through the city until they put the highway in a tunnel with the costliest highway project ever... Big Dig

And another shot from the park , but , looking in the opposite direction, of Rowes Wharf where I left my Yacht above..I wish!!

Located across from the State House , beside the Boston Common is the Memorial to the Massachusetts 54th Volunteer Infantry which was one of the first black regiments in the US Military and fought in the Civil War and was depicted in the movie Glory starring Matthew Broderick and Denzel Washington.

All in all my son Pat and I had a nice day
strolling through the city, hope you enjoy the photos!!
