Experiencing Technical Difficulties

Today my computer was declared officially DEAD !! What a pain. I will be replacing it soon but until such time I will not be able to post too much,,,,please stay tuned and of course keep up with your Trivia...

In the meantime I have begun reading what the Modern Day Library considers the Top 100 works of fiction.

1st Up is Ulysses by James Joyce. It was originally banned in the U.S.A. it is not a particularly easy read but I am beginning to catch on to his style.

Here is the LIST

What are You Reading??

Last month the hard drive died on my computer so I know how it is to be without one. Thank goodness the computer is still under warranty.

Yesterday I finished reading The Audacity of Hope by Barack Obama.

Take care of you :0)

My Hunny isn't much of a reader - he's more of a tv kinda guy - but he got on me one day, saying "How in the Hell do you read 5 or 6 books at one time? Don't you get the stories confused..?" My response..? "You watch 10 or 15 different shows every week, don't you get the stories confused..?"
Actually, I read VERY fast, which can be a plus when it comes to things like contracts or stuff you need to learn, but the down side is, when I start reading a book that really grabs me, I'm usually done with it in no time flat, which is a bit of a let down. One of my favorite series, written by Brian Lumley, went a while without the "next book". I was so excited when "The Last Aerie" (768 pages) came out, I read it in a day & a half. After waiting almost a year for it, it was gone that quick. My point is, if I read 4, 5, 6, sometimes more, books at one time, none of them get devoured quite so quickly...

Dawtch, 768 in a day and a half...Did you take the Evelyn Woods Speed Reading Dynamics Course ??

Nah, I've never taken any kind of reading course - I truly can't recall a time when I couldn't read, and I can remember things that happened from before I was 2...I first grade (which I started at 4) I read and gave book reports on something like 65 books (my Mom had a list of all of them) It's just something I've always done, and it seems like I've always done it quickly. When 'Roots' came out in 1976, (I was 9) I read it in about a week...Maybe just lucky that way..?
