Where are they now??

Have you ever visited a blog and found it hadn't been updated in months?
The last post was sometime in April and the blogger's last post was something like

Weekend Plan - April 20, 2007

"On Saturday I'm gonna go get Jill and we're gonna go for a walk up the Hill ..Hope everyone has a great weekend" Jack (-:

And then nothing. You happen to stumble upon the blog in August and there's no report back, No Jack, No Jill!

They have disappeared into the void and you'll never know what happened. But hey we can make up stories of what might have...

Maybe Jack went to pick up Jill for the walk up the hill and found her with another man? Jack, might have beat the crap out of the guy and then got arrested and put in jail....

Maybe he got hit by a car on his way to get Jill and he's still recovering from his injuries...

Maybe Jill shot Jack because he was cheating on her?

Or they were both killed by a pack of angry wolves while trying to get a drink of water after climbing the hill..

Possibly they were victims of a simple alien abduction??

Whatever the reason it seems clear that these people will not be back anytime soon but it begs the question...What happens to your blog if you die?

Should we be putting passwords in our wills so that someone somewhere can shut the blog down or say farewell to the readers?

Should we be writing out last post now with instruction on how to post it?

This post is filled with questions and damn it I want some answers?

Sorry Tom, I don't have the answers either - I'm still getting over your last post and wanting more information on WHO would buy those boob lifters!

Hey Tom!

This is something that I have also wondered about to be honest. I've given my password to one trusted friend - and he knows that if something happens to me he has to post the "and that's all folks!" post that I've left in my drafts for that reason...

Maybe that's worrying too much, hey? Now and then I obsess a bit about what would happen if that draft got accidentally posted before I die. Hahahaha! These things happen you know? ;-)

I'm relying on my daughter to close down my blog. I hope she writes something nice about me. I keep meaning to make a list of music to play at my funeral too.

Have you ever wondered why some of these blogs that haven't been updated for months are still circulation on the traffic exchanges?

Milly, I've got the Hideaway team working on that, we want everyone to get the "support" they need!

Louisa, if it got posted in error you probably get some increased traffic!! Who knows maybe someone would send money for flowers!!

Anji, I was thinking of giving the info to my son, but I'm still working on the right song..Maybe Roy Orbison.."It's Over"

Anji..I got the idea for this post after running into those blogs circulating in traffic exchanges, they drive me crazy!!

Or maybe it was a suicide pact and they both jumped into the well and Jill died first from starvation and then Jack ate her flesh and he's still down there. Do you think we out to send the authorities?
Also- I am reminded of a few people who have passed away whose emails to me are still saved in my mailbox. I am afraid to delete them.

Oh, my. I better give my sister my password. Let me know if she writes anything mean about me after I'm dead.

Tom - you should give your password to your "able assistant" after all you are painting her house and if you should fall off the ladder [again] who knows - it could be death by shrubery [which is messy] or just a long term incapacitation [two broken arms]. Anyway, at least the "stick a fork in it" could keep on running.....

Good question! I wonder a lot about folks who abandon their blogs--did they get shot, run over, go on a bender?

Great post.

Stacy, I hadn't thought of that scenario...you might be right!

Lil Bunny, she's easy going too!!

Beth, i think they were abducted while on a bender ay a local block party in a mearby trailer park

I always wonder about these things, too. I hate it. I usually think the blogger died or got hurt in an accident.

If they died or got hurt their absence is understandable, but if they have stopped blogging and just left their blog floating out here in cyberspace I think we should hunt them down and hurt them, hurt them really bad

I've thought of that before... Not with blog really. But i have already given my email password to my most trusted friend... And since she can use the same password to my blogger id as well... Guess things are taken care of. Perhaps i will write in my will too... Sort of giving her legal access to my 'creative' writing... He he...
