Well It's been busy around here...Dad got out of the hospital and is now under the strict guidance of Unit Number 1 (That's MOM) and believe me he better start listening!!
I talked to him this morning and told him that I was home nursing my cold, more than likely something I picked up visiting him at the hospital last week, and as I worked over the weekend I thought I'd stay in and recuperate today....
Looking back at the hospital, when dad finally got a room...30 hrs after getting to the emergency room..I have to say the room was kinda creepy. When I first went in it seemed quite spacious. It was a Corner room with 2 large windows looking out on the wooded hillside behind the hospital. I grabbed a chair next to the windows and then I noticed this....
Turkey Vultures...
Somehow it just doesn't seem right to have Turkey Vultures looking into you hospital room...to me it's creepy.
It wasn't like there was just one either...
They were all over the place!!
Well Dad's home, we didn't let those stinking turkeys get em and on Sunday he saw Tom Brady and the Patriot's win their 18th straight win...That's one for the history books, and now they head to the Super Bowl to take on the NY Giants looking for their 19th straight win and 4th Super bowl victory in 7 years...
Boston vs NY does it get any better!!

Were those Salem or Union turkeys? You should've grabbed a couple to stick in the freezer for next Thanksgiving.
Tell your Dad I'm glad he's home, and I hope to see him out walking soon. (Although it is a bit cold right now.)
Wow, I really didn't see this one coming, re the Giants! I don't follow lots of football, but c'mon: New York? Imagine that. Now, even I might be mildly interested in the SuperBowl. I'm working that evening, however, so you'll have to keep me updated by phoning every 30 minutes with the highlights. He he ...
well, with all the turkey-eating going on, they prolly wanna see sick and injured people. Maybe the turkeys get a kick out of seeing someone hop along on crutches. That sure would please me if I was a turkey.
And emergency rooms are always creepy. I think they just build'em that way.
Well yes, it gets better than that, it has to because football on tv scares me so when its off, I feel better. Turkey Vultures? They look like plain turkeys to me but I wouldn't put it past them to peck out the eyes of the dead. Glad your Dad is home with mom!
Crikey, that's cold-hearted of those little buggers! Wouldn't exactly win first prize for motivational psychology for the hospital's patients either!
I've never seen birds like that - are they native to America?
ROFL... Native American birds... That sounds too funny.
I have to say that is a bit creepy.
Those turkeys don't look that big - Now the one I saw in the Dunkin' Donuts parking lot at Goodwin Circle was BIG. He was standing in the parking space I initially went to park in and he was looking in the side window of my Honda Pilot - I parked elsewhere! I think the turkey would not have been too friendly and I didn't want to take the chance! gobble, gobble!
Oh my! It looks cold with al that snow. I'm glad I'm in sunny Singapore, living near the beach. hehe....
Namaste' Tom, holy he**, the turkey vulture thing is HILARIOUS!!! "just doesn't seem right he says," and it's not like there was just one of em hahahahaha. Actually I LOVE turkey vultures, they are a harmless bird, and very important to the eco system as all animals are. I did get the humour here of (dad in hospital) and (a flock of vultures outside LOL). This really did make me smile and laugh. Great entertaining post! Metta.
