Weekly Winner, Trivia Update

It was a crazy week at Tom's Trivia Challenge, with tests on Europe and Australia. We saw our Australian friend kathlock actually score lower than the man just south of Boston...PG on the Australia quiz!!

Like last week, our most dominate player for the week accumulating even more points than he did last week a big CONGRATS goes out to

Hope is on the horizon for some of the young blood getting into the top 5 as we see soy-boy and pixiepants finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively. Our Indiana Star, dawtch came in 5th and surprising no one, kathlock remains in the top 5 scorers albeit a little lower than normal in 4th place.

Player Total Points Overall Rank
1. PG 130 1
2. soy-boy 94 3
3.pixiepants 92 8
4. kathlock 91 2
5. dawtch 83 4

As we move into the last full week of the month I will change up the categories again today and of course always hope to see some new players join Tom's Trivia Challenge.. I know of at least 4 players who flew off to Mexico yesterday so I am not sure if we will see them in the coming week..I wish all good luck and have a great week.

Getting Ready For Game 5, Fathers Day.

The last time it happened was 1986.....

My Game "J" Ticket above got me into the 6th Game of the NBA finals back in 1986.

My friend Mitch won the tickets in a raffle and we watched as the Celtics rolled over the Houston Rockets and win the NBA Championship for the 16th time...

The ticket price then was $14.00 dollars, we paid $5 for the Raffle Ticket...today you are talking at least $150.00 dollars admission to the game this Sunday.

This Box of Wheaties below:

Pictures the Great Larry Bird who led the Celtics to that victory over Houston.

This box of Wheaties dates back to 1986 as well and has never been opened.

It along with the ticket above, an original piece of the Old Boston Garden Floor, a Kevin Garnett Bobble Head and a stuffed Paul Pierce Bear, along with many many Celtics Shirts, Flags and assorted memorabilia make up the Family Room Shrine today as we get set for Game 5 this Father's Day...

The Old Star, Bird in the foreground and on the TV, the current Captain of the Celtics, Paul Pierce with coach Doc Rivers.

Everywhere you look you see Celtic Green !!

Let's Go Celtics !!!

Oh, and Happy Father's Day to all !!

Oh and lets not forget....

The Red Sox won another over Baltimore last night and they start an Inter-League Series against the Cincinnati Red today...

I think the last time the Red Sox played the Reds was 1975 World Series....that was a heartbreaker!

Celtics vs Lakers, and Letting off some GAS!!

The Celtics take the floor again tonight against the L. A. Lakers at the Staples Center in Sunny California tonight.

Tuesday the Celtics lost but tonight I am hoping for better results and I am feeling pretty pumped up about the game.

I think Paul Pierce will come back and play a great game after his sub-par performance on Tuesday.

So let me start off the evening with a big Shout Out from Boston...

BEAT L.A. !!!!

In other news The Mighty Boston Red Sox are still in first place and won another last night...

In Gasoline News...I received an email today asking me to boycott oil companies that import their oil from countries that support terrorism....I checked around and found the following site:

Terror-Free Oil Initiative

It's worth a look to see if you are in any way helping to support those countries that seem to think blowing themselves up and killing innocent people is OK.

I don't have a car but I do use one occasionally and I guess I'll be sure to go to HESS Gas in the future. I just wish they would pump it for me..I hate doing it myself.

Remember when the Gas Station Attendant would pump your gas and wash your windows too??

Anyway I am all for boycotting bad companies..

Especially Oil Companies !!

Chain Mail

To all my friends who in the last year sent me best 'wishes', chain letters, 'angel' letters or other promises
of good luck if I forwarded something,

I did what you told me ...
I sent the email to 10 people like you said ..
I'm still waiting for that miracle to happen .

NONE OF THAT CRAP WORKED!
For 2008, could you please just send money, vintage wine, chocolate, cruise-ship tickets,
gasoline vouchers and airline tickets instead!

Thank you!
